I've always loved walking in the woods, here in the Pioneer Valley, in eastern Massachusetts where I grew up, or on the Cape and Vineyard, and when you walk in the woods after a rain you see mushrooms here, there, and everywhere. We had a dear friend who knew her mushrooms- she could forage and gather with the best of them. I'd never dare try it myself, but I do love mushrooms, whether on my plate or on the woodland floor.
